Amalaki (also known as "Indian gooseberry") is a small yellowish fruit native to India. It has also become a part of traditional medicine, the so-called Ayurvedic medicine. Amalaki powder is made from its dried form.
The effects of amalaki are associated with an old legend from ancient times about a sage named Chyawan, who supported his poor health and eventually lived to a ripe old age thanks to the consumption of the fruit known as amalaki. We can argue about the truth of the legend, but we know for sure that the tree is considered sacred in India and its fruit is called the "heavenly fruit".
Amalaki helps support the body's defenses. It contributes to the normal functioning of the digestive system.
Traditional use: Put a teaspoon of powder in a glass, add 2 teaspoons of water and create a paste. Then dilute this paste with any amount of liquid, without lumps. Amalaki is taken 2 times a day.
