Product detailed description
Aronia is a deciduous shrub native to North America. Thanks to birds that eat the fruits of the aronia, the plant has spread to other parts of the world, where it has become wild.
It does well especially in temperate climates. It began to be cultivated in Europe around 1700. The well-known Russian Ivan Michurin, who focused on growing fruit trees and shrubs, also contributed to raising awareness of aronia in 1910. Organic aronia is grown and highly valued primarily for its fruit. The small black fruits (malvice), growing mostly at the ends of branches (therefore, it is not recommended to prune them), are used mainly in Anglo-Saxon countries to make jams, juices, wine, decoctions, or boiled into various dishes such as cakes. Due to their high content of phenolic compounds (anthocyanins), they can be used as a natural dye.
Organic chokeberry fruits - black rowan berries have a high content of anthocyanins. Anthocyanins are substances found in the skin of chokeberry, which are formed together with dark blue to black pigments to protect the fruit from sunlight.
The provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 1924/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council, on nutrition and health claims, do not allow us to inform you about the effects of these fruits on your body. Please find information about the effects in freely available sources on the Internet or in a herbarium.
Ingredients:100% Aronia melanocarpa BIO
Traditional use: BIO Aronia has a bitter-sweet taste with an interesting aftertaste. It is recommended to consume it dried. It can also be heat-treated, but it partially loses its active ingredients. We can use it directly or blend it and make juices (or cocktails with milk). When used in drinks and adding a small amount of sugar or honey, the bitterness is lost and a wonderful specific taste reminiscent of blueberries emerges.
