Benedict thistle (lat. Cnicus benedictus) is a traditional plant whose use has been known since ancient times. From the Middle Ages, during the times of plague epidemics, Benedict was popularly called "blessed thistle". Benedict is a classic herb used in connection with digestive health. The bitters it contains give it a typical bitter taste and are also responsible for supporting the production of bile and digestive juices.
Benedict is also found as a traditional component of herbal liqueurs or the famous Swedish drops. Its use is also recommended for its positive effects on the respiratory system. To support the respiratory system, you can use an infusion or inhale hot steam.
Traditional use:
Pour one teaspoon of Benedict with 200 ml of boiling water, leave for 10 minutes. Infuse, strain and drink 2–3 times a day on an empty stomach. Do not exceed the recommended daily dosage. Exceeding it may cause nausea or vomiting.
Warning: Does not replace a varied diet. Keep out of reach of children. Do not exceed the recommended daily dosage.
