Apricot kernels are processed in food standards, but according to EU Regulation 2023/915, which sets the maximum limit of hydrocyanic acid in apricot kernels placed on the market, they may not be used as food or a food supplement. We therefore supply apricot kernels only as raw materials for external use and further processing (e.g. in cosmetics).
The common apricot is a tree growing up to 12 m tall. Its homeland is China, it reached Europe via Armenia, which was reflected in its Latin name - Prunus armeniaca.
The crown is irregular, oval, with petiolate leaves. The inflorescence is pink or white, blooming during March and April. The subject of collection is mainly yellow-orange drupes, similar to a small peach.
Caution, the current batch contains approximately 30% sweet pits.
