This unique salt is obtained by slowly roasting Himalayan rock salt with charcoal. Thanks to trace compounds (especially sulfur and iron), it has a specific color, taste and strong aroma reminiscent of eggs. It is a specialty of Indian cuisine, which cannot be easily used instead of classic salt. Its smell may be unpleasant at first, but it goes well with Indian dishes and vegans will appreciate the egg flavor it adds to vegan dishes. Kala Namak is also very interesting from an Ayurvedic point of view.
