Product detailed description
Black walnut (lat. Juglans nigra) is a sturdy tree growing up to 40 m tall and 25 m wide. Its homeland is North America - the eastern part of the USA, from where it was imported to Europe in the 17th century. It was first recorded in the Czech Republic in 1835 and is currently part of castle gardens and parks. Black walnut has brownish-gray to blackish-gray grooved bark, long pointed and serrated leaves. It is a monoecious tree with spherical fruits that contain edible kernels. The black walnut tree blooms in May and June.
The phytotherapeutically useful part is especially the pericarp of the walnut tree, which is used internally in the form of a decoction.
External use: Due to its strong disinfectant effects, the decoction is also used externally for rinsing and applying to affected areas of the skin.
The provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 1924/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council, on nutrition and health claims, do not allow us to inform you about the effects of this plant on your body. Please find information about the effects in freely available sources or in a herbarium.
Traditional use:
Put one tablespoon of pericarp in 750 ml of cold water and bring to a boil. Boil on low heat for 8–10 min. and let stand. Then strain and divide the decoction prepared in this way into three doses, which we will take during the day. It is not intended for long-term use. After six weeks of use, it is recommended to take a one-week break and not repeat this treatment more than 2 times a year.
