This candied lemon peel has a distinctive fruity taste and does not contain dyes or preservatives. It is made from lemons from controlled organic farming that have not been treated with chemical spraying. The fresh peel is cut into cubes, then briefly heated, poured with syrup and lemon juice and candied for several hours. The syrup gradually penetrates the peel, where it replaces water. Candiing fruit was previously used mainly for its storage, but in the era of year-round availability of fresh fruit, we rather appreciate the specific taste of candied fruit. Candied lemon peel is used in baking, in sweet yeast doughs, in chocolate sweets and for decorating sweets.
