Product detailed description
Cantaloupe, lat. Cucumis melo, is a wonderful dessert melon.
Cantaloupe belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family - gourds. It is a crop in which its fruit - melon - is the most distinctive. The fruit has a spherical shape, usually weighing around 1 kg, but a weight of 5 kg is not an exception. The rind of the melon is yellow-green and the surface is furrowed with a map-like arrangement of smaller cracks.
The inner flesh is orange, and its consistency is very reminiscent of mango. Cantaloupe has an interesting, unusual taste for Europeans, which is a mixture of apricots, caramel and sweet carrots. Due to its natural sweet taste, especially young children love it.

Despite the fact that Cantaloupe comes from India or Africa, it is possible to grow it in the Czech Republic in a greenhouse. It needs enough moisture, light and your care. The seeds are planted in January, the cantaloupe blooms during May. Pollination is carried out by bees. One well-ripened melon weighs approximately 1 kg.
