This 100% cashew paste is made from cashew nuts that are gently air-roasted using renewable energy and finely ground. The resulting paste naturally contains high-quality unsaturated oils and vitamin E, and is particularly rich in iron, magnesium and vitamin B1 (thiamine). Thiamine plays an important role in converting carbohydrates in food into energy, maintaining healthy nerves and helping with certain types of heart disease. If you drink a lot of coffee or tea, you need more thiamine, as these drinks leach thiamine from the body. Since no additives, such as hydrogenated fats or emulsifiers, are used, the cashew oil may separate. This is not a defect in quality and you just need to stir the paste before using it. Cashew paste is excellent for pastries (can be combined with honey, maple syrup, raisins...), for softening desserts, for baking (into cakes, cakes or biscuits), for cornflakes and muesli, for flavouring sauces and vegetable dishes and in Asian cuisine. Cashew "milk" is obtained by mixing a spoonful of paste with 250 ml of hot water and a little oil and sweetening to taste. The product comes from the fair trade project HAND IN HAND.
