Ceylon is a high-altitude true black tea originating from the Nuwara Eliya area. It is grown at an altitude of up to 2,000 m above sea level. The OP (Orange Pekoe) designation indicates that it is a high-quality tea from the two upper leaves. Ceylon Nuwara Eliya tea provides a dark infusion with a distinctive and intense taste, the aroma is enhanced by fruity tones. The overall enjoyment of the tea is balanced and charming.

Black teas generally have a strong taste and a distinctive aroma. These are fermented teas. The fermentation process colors the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant and awakens their typical taste and aroma, while also extending their shelf life. In East Asia, black tea is also called red tea.

Recommended preparation:
Put three teaspoons (7 g) of tea in a teapot and pour 500 ml of water at a temperature of 95 °C. Infuse for 2–3 minutes. One infusion can be prepared from this tea. It is suitable as a morning tea for a good breakfast.
