Product detailed description
Finely rolled black tea balls
Organic "curly" black tea is a specialty from northern Laos. Organic black tea, which is called red in Laos, is made from the leaves of an ancient tea tree. After drying and rolling, the tea is fermented in baskets and the starch turns into sugar. This process takes several hours. Once the fermentation stage has reached the desired ripeness, the tea is lightly dried and then shoveled into warm woks. Here it acquires its characteristic, curly shape. Hence the name Curly Black. BIO VEGAN, FAIR TRADE, 100 g.
The small Somneuk Laothang family factory is located in the mountains of Phongsaly province in the north of the country. Here, the indigenous Phu Noi tribes have planted ancient tea trees around their villages. The tribes receive great support from local authorities and in the region the use of agricultural chemicals is strictly regulated and even completely banned for tea. An ideal prerequisite for organic cultivation. There are some factories in the region, but Somneuk Laothang stands out.
Preparation: Before use, rinse the teapot with hot water. 1/2 to 1 teaspoon per cup. Place the black tea in a filter bag and brew in 100 ° C hot water. Let it steep for 3 minutes.
