Product detailed description
Chaga is a widespread fungus that parasitizes on birch trunks. In recent years, it has become the focus of interest for scientists and clinical institutions. Despite the fact that chaga was used in the Chinese court 2,000 years ago, it has only been studied in modern times for a few years.
Chaga is a mushroom with an irregular body shape with a distinctive, typically black color. This is caused by a high concentration of the pigment melanin. Chaga is originally native to Asia and the Russian taiga. Here, it has also been a widely used and well-known mushroom since the 16th century. The only suitable time to collect chaga is spring and autumn, due to the highest concentration of ingredients.
In Siberia, this mushroom was often used instead of real tea, which was scarce there. Chaga infusion tastes similar to weak black tea. It is slightly bitter with a smell reminiscent of melta.
The provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 1924/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council, on nutrition and health claims, do not allow us to inform you about the effects of this herb on your body. Please find information about its effects in freely available sources or in a herbarium.
Traditional use: Chaga can be prepared as an infusion, or pickled and made into an alcohol tincture. Chaga tea is prepared from one tablespoon (approx. 5 g) of the mushroom, which is poured with 2.5 l of cold water. Let it stand overnight in the refrigerator. The next day, let the infusion boil for about 5–10 minutes. Set aside, let it steep for another 5 minutes, then strain. Drink a cup (250 ml) three times a day, half an hour before meals. The remaining infusion can be stored in the refrigerator for about 2–3 days and drunk gradually.
Prepare the tincture from one part of the mushroom to five parts of alcohol (60–80%). Let the chaga infuse in a glass in the dark for two weeks, shaking occasionally. Then drain and boil the mushroom again in five parts of water. After evaporating about 20% of the water, drain the aqueous extract with the alcohol. Take 1 teaspoon of the tincture 3 times a day, half an hour before meals.
