Product detailed description
Bird's Eye chilies (lat. Capsicum annuum) are small chili peppers that rarely grow longer than 3 cm and their diameter does not exceed 1 cm. They are commonly found in Southeast Asia and Ethiopia. They are often compared in size to Pequin chilies, but their heat is slightly higher. As they ripen, the peppers change color from bright green to red, which they add to with a soft brown after drying.
Bird's Eye chilies are hot chilies, and at one time were among the hottest peppers in the world. Bird's Eye peppers have a strong, sharp spicy taste with pure heat. They only add heat to the dish, they do not impart any other flavors or aromas.
Chilli contributes to maintaining normal stomach health, supports hair growth and acts as an antioxidant. It affects fat and carbohydrate metabolism, reduces calorie intake, and is suitable for weight control. It supports thermogenesis - increasing heat production.
Uses:
Bird's Eye chili is mainly used in Filipino, Indonesian, Thai and Lao cuisine. It is mainly used in salads, it can also be added to pickled chervil and of course in goulash or other sauces where spiciness is required. But be careful with the amount used, Bird's Eye chili can easily overpower the taste of the dish.
Warning: Keep out of reach of children. Inhalation or contact with eyes can cause significant irritation of the mucous membrane. Close tightly.
