Chilli con carne is a spicy spice mixture that was created based on the world-famous dish of the same name. The origin of chili con carne is in Texas, but it also has a significant influence from Mexican cuisine. The spice base is paprika, chili, oregano and cumin.
Ingredients: cumin, paprika, chili, oregano, pepper, onion, chili pepper
Use: Chilli con carne is a mixture suitable for preparing the dish of the same name from Tex-Mex cuisine. It can be used to flavor ragouts, goulash, stewed vegetable mixtures, but also minced meat.
Chilli con carne — we need:
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil;
- 1 onion, finely chopped;
- 1 red pepper, cut into pieces;
- 500 g of minced beef;
- 2 tablespoons of Chilli con carne seasoning;
- ¼ liter of beef broth (can also be water);
- a can of chopped tomatoes;
- 1 teaspoon of sugar;
- a can of sterilized beans;
- salt and pepper to taste.
Procedure: In a pot, leave the oil, add the chopped pepper and sauté briefly (3 min.). Add the minced meat, which we break into smaller pieces, sprinkle with spices and sauté until it falls apart. Then pour the broth over the meat, add the chopped tomatoes, a teaspoon of sugar and simmer uncovered for 20 min. Then mix the drained beans into the mixture and simmer for another 10 min. Season with salt and pepper and serve with bread.
Storage: Keep dry and close carefully.
