Dry extract from the aerial part of the plant Cichorium intybus (Chicory). It contains at least 8% of flavonoids determined as apigenin, 10% of coumarins determined as esculin and at least 5% of tannin compounds determined as tannin. In addition, it also contains a number of other biologically active substances - coumarin glycosides chicoryin and esculetin and others. The effects of these substances are related to the activity and protection of the liver, the activity and condition of the gallbladder, the support of digestion and appetite.
The liver can be damaged by chemicals, antibiotics, excessive consumption of unhealthy foods, alcohol or drugs or various infections. The effects of the substances contained in Chicory are related to helping with damage from all these areas. It is also related to the normal functioning of the gallbladder and kidneys.
