What does it even mean - an ethical dietary supplement? In ordinary supplements, it occurs, for example, in the form of an oxide. This form is of little use to the body and the reason why it is used in common supplements is again the low price. Shellac is a resin secreted by the female lacquer worm, an insect native to India. Sheets of this resin are dissolved in ethyl alcohol to form a liquid shellac that is used as varnish and glaze. These substances are commonly used in dietary supplements, medicines and foods. You won't find them in Viridian supplements.
