Water lily is a valuable ingredient in Chinese herbal medicine. The long roots of the water lily grow up to 2.5 m deep into the ground and receive nutrients from there. What is special about the leaves of this plant is that liquids and impurities simply roll off - this is known as the so-called lotus effect. In cosmetics, the extract promises a relaxing, calming and protective effect. The lotus effect improves skin protection against harmful environmental influences and softens the skin.
