Čubrica is a seasoning of the highest quality. This flavor can most often be found in recipes from Balkan cuisine. It is a pleasantly aromatic spice that will enhance any dish you add it to. The entire mixture has a pleasant taste and aroma characteristic of lovage, celery and savory.
Ingredients: Salt (30%), savory, lovage, celery, fenugreek. Contains celery.
Usage:
Čubrica is excellent for meat and vegetable dishes. We recommend adding it to homemade meatballs, baked vegetables, but also to flavor legumes - especially bean dishes or thick soups. Čubrica is suitable for grilling.
Bulgarian moussaka – for four servings we need:
- 1 kg of potatoes (eggplant can be used),
- 0.5 kg of minced meat,
- 1 onion,
- 2 cups of milk,
- 4 eggs,
- 0.5 cup of oil,
- 2 tablespoons of ground paprika,
- ½ tablespoon of čubrica mixture,
- 1 teaspoon of crushed black pepper,
- salt to taste.
Procedure: Clean and chop the ingredients. Fry the onion in some oil until golden brown, then add the minced meat, pepper, savory, paprika, a little salt and sauté until browned. Then remove from heat and mix with potatoes, add salt, add the rest of the oil and bake in the oven at 220 °C for 45 minutes. In the meantime, mix the egg with milk, which we pour over the mixture 10 minutes before the end of baking. Bake until golden brown.
Storage: Keep dry and close carefully.
