Product detailed description
Fenugreek is an annual herb growing up to 60 cm tall. Fenugreek is considered a transition between a cereal and a legume.
The whole plant is widely used in agriculture as livestock feed. Fenugreek seeds are used in pharmacy and for phytotherapeutic purposes. Fenugreek can be used as a spice - it is part of many spice mixtures, such as curry spices. Fenugreek supports the body's natural defenses - the immune system, as well as digestion and appetite. It also acts as an antioxidant and normalizes blood glucose levels. Externally, we use fenugreek for rinsing and compresses for poorly healing wounds, skin inflammation, varicose veins, soft swellings and bruises.
Provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 1924/2006, on nutritional and health claims, does not allow us to inform you about the effects of this seed on your body. Please find information about the effects in freely available sources on the Internet or in literature.
Traditional use:
Fenugreek is often used in cooking as a spice. It is also part of many spice mixtures, such as curry spice. Fenugreek seeds are often added sprouted as an ingredient in salads. If we want to use the seeds as a spice, it is advisable to dry roast them first.
Fenugreek is administered externally and internally. For internal use, we prepare a tea by mixing 2 teaspoons of seeds and 1 cup of cold water. Let it stand for about 3 hours and then bring to a boil. Boil briefly and strain, drink lukewarm.
For external use: Fenugreek compresses are recommended. The compress is traditionally made in the form of a mush. Crush 100 g of seeds and boil with water and vinegar to create a thick mush. Then spread a thick layer on a linen cloth, which is then applied 3–4 times a day to the inflamed area. Leave the compress on the wound until it cools.
