In Georgia, tea cultivation and processing are an integral part of the culture. However, during the rule of the USSR, there was a certain decline. Now Georgian teas are returning to the eye of the tea lover, production is growing and new tea plantations are being established.
The Georgian tea that we present to you here is powerful in its processing and is very popular. The tea is ground into a fine powder. Thanks to this, it can be prepared as a quick drink without straining. Simply put a teaspoon in a mug, pour boiling water over it and let it fall to the bottom. This tea is an excellent alternative to coffee. Of course, in high quality, which we are looking for in vain with bagged teas.
The tea is reddish-brown, has a floral aroma with a hint of honey. It has a slightly astringent, sweet taste.
Traditional preparation: Pour one teaspoon over 250–300 ml of hot water at a temperature of 90–95 °C. Steep for 2–4 minutes until the tea settles to the bottom. This tea is single-infusion, suitable as a quick tea for a good breakfast or as an afternoon tea.
