Goose cinquefoil (Potentilla anserina) is a perennial herb growing 10–50 cm tall. It is widely distributed. It can be found practically throughout Europe, but also in Canada, the USA, Chile, China, the Far East, Central Asia and New Zealand. In phytotherapy, the main use is the stem of the goose cinquefoil, which is collected in bloom, i.e. from May to June.
Goose cinquefoil is most often used to maintain premenstrual and menstrual comfort and health.
Externally, goose cinquefoil is used for baths, compresses or washing poorly healing wounds and ulcers or inflamed skin areas.
Warning: Not suitable for breastfeeding and pregnant women.
Traditional use: Prepare a decoction of goose cinquefoil from one tablespoon per 250 ml of water. Bring to a boil, immediately remove from heat and let steep for 10 minutes. Then strain. Drink 3 times a day before meals.
