Gunpowder is a true green tea, whose name can be translated as gunpowder or pearl tea. It is produced mainly in China and Taiwan. It is an excellent variety of classic Chinese tea, the leaves of which are rolled into small balls that spontaneously expand when poured with hot water.
Gunpowder is very popular in Western countries and has strong stimulating effects. Thanks to its perfect rolling, it retains its typical aroma better and absorbs less ambient odors. The infusion is yellow-green in color, the aroma is subtly grassy and the taste is attractive with a slight hint of bitterness.
Green tea has been known to mankind for more than 5 thousand years and is perceived as a basic tea. The largest producers are China and Japan. It is part of Eastern medicine, where it is attributed magical effects. It is associated with many rituals and cultural traditions, especially in Southeast Asian countries. In general, green tea has a fresh aroma and a milder taste than black tea. Dried leaves should be green, firm and shiny. This is tea that has undergone minimal oxidation.
Chinese tea tree acts as an antioxidant and supports physical and mental activity. Drinking tea is suitable for maintaining healthy teeth, supports the condition of bones and skin. It is recommended for weight control, and is able to normalize blood glucose levels and fat metabolism. Supports normal heart health.
Recommended preparation:
Pour one or two teaspoons (approx. 5 g) of tea over 500 ml of water at a temperature of 75–85 °C. Infuse for 2 minutes, then strain. This tea can be made into up to 3 infusions and is more resistant to over-infusion, which causes unpleasant bitterness in the tea.
