Gunpowder Zhu cha is true green tea, whose name can be translated as gunpowder or pearl tea. It is produced mainly in China and Taiwan.
This is an excellent variety of classic Chinese tea, whose leaves are rolled into small balls, which spontaneously unfold after being poured with hot water. Thanks to the perfect rolling, it retains its typical aroma better and absorbs less ambient odors. The infusion is yellow-green in color, the aroma is subtly grassy and the taste is attractive with a slight hint of bitterness.
