Harissa is a spicy spice blend originating in Tunisia, popular especially in Algeria and Morocco. The base of the blend is chili peppers, garlic, cumin and coriander.
Ingredients: ground and crushed chili peppers, ground and crushed paprika, garlic, salt (max. 8%), tomato powder, coriander, cumin
Use: Harissa is used to prepare spicy sauces served with roasted meat and vegetables. In the traditional preparation, it is enough to mix it with olive oil into a paste with a very varied taste. Harissa is also suitable for adding a spicy flavor to sauces, roasted meat and vegetables, or for preparing meat for grilling.
Untraditional yogurt dip with Harissa - we need:
- 2 tablespoons of Harissa spice mixture;
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil;
- 1 cup of white Greek yogurt;
- lemon juice to taste;
- salt to taste.
Procedure: Mix the harissa with olive oil to make a paste, which is then mixed with sour cream. We recommend adding the paste in parts so that the spiciness of the resulting dip suits you. Finally, season with lemon juice and salt.
Storage: Keep dry and tightly closed.
