Haritaki (lat. Terminalia chebula) is a deciduous, massive tree with an oval, bushy crown growing up to 30 meters high. Its homeland is Southeast Asia.
The exact translation of haritaki is "washes away, carries away". Haritaki is recommended to support the body's natural defenses - the immune system, maintain normal digestive, excretory and liver functions. Beneficial effects have been noted on the nervous system, senses, mind and stress relief. Haritaki acts as an antioxidant, supports reproductive functions, maintains natural skin health and contributes to maintaining normal functions of the cardiovascular, respiratory and urinary systems. Haritaki has an effect on glucose metabolism and blood cholesterol levels.
Traditional dosage:
Put two pieces of haritaki (about a tablespoon of fruit, without the seed) in 200 ml of cold water and let it stand overnight. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach. Another option is to pour the same amount of 200 ml of boiling water, let it boil, then drink in the morning on an empty stomach. A nutcracker can be used for fruits with seeds.
