This salt was formed in the area of today's Himalayas during the Paleozoic Era by the slow evaporation of a shallow sea. The subsequent movement of the earth's layers pushed the salt deposits deep below the surface. Since then, the salt has been hidden underground and isolated from the environment and human activity. It is mined by hand and is not processed in any way. Trace amounts of iron ions give it its pink color. We use it in the same way as regular salt, and it is also suitable for baths.
