Cola de caballo is one of the largest horsetails in the world, which is also reflected in its other name – giant horsetail. It is a South American variety of horsetail. It reaches a height of up to 5 m, usually growing to 3 m. It is one of the oldest plants on earth. It was used hundreds of years ago and is still popular throughout Peru and other countries in South America. The useful part of Cola de caballo is the above-ground part of the plant, which is light green in color.
External use: Thanks to its ingredients, the herb is traditionally used in baths and spas, to wash poorly healing wounds and skin injuries.

Traditional use:
Put 1 tablespoon of dry matter in 1 l of cold water and bring to a boil. Boil for about 5 minutes, then strain and drink a glass of the decoction (about 250 ml) 3 times a day. The infusion is golden yellow in color, with a delicate aroma.
