Field horsetail (Latin Equisetum arvense) is a gymnosperm, spore-bearing and perennial herb growing up to 90 cm tall. In the Czech Republic, it is widespread in areas from lowlands to mountainous areas. It is most commonly found as a field or meadow weed. It grows on moist sandy loam soils in pastures, embankments, slopes and forests. In some countries, such as Japan and Korea, horsetail buds are a common vegetable diet in the spring.
Field horsetail supports the health of the urinary tract and liver and influences cardiovascular health – elasticity of the arteries. Field horsetail is recommended for supporting the respiratory system. It has a mineralizing effect on the skin, hair and nails, refreshes the body and supports the body's resistance to external influences. Horsetail helps maintain normal joint health. It contributes to maintaining normal skin, hair and nail health, supports excretion.
Traditional use: Pour one to two teaspoons into 250 ml of water and boil briefly. Let stand for 15 minutes, then strain. Take 2–3 times a day.
Warning: Does not replace a varied diet. Keep out of reach of children. Do not exceed the recommended daily dosage.
