Curry is a spice preparation that is most often used in Indonesian, Thai, Chinese, and especially Indian cuisine. It is a traditional part of international cuisine. The aroma and taste of Indian curry is distinctly turmeric and pungent with pepper. The combination of this spice is best used in rice, chicken and vegetable mixtures.
Ingredients: Turmeric, pepper, fenugreek, fennel, cumin, coriander, ginger, sugar, salt (max. 10%).
Use:
Curry spice is most often used in combination with rice. The most famous is chicken curry with rice, it is also suitable for soups, cream sauces, but also for seasoning minced meat and vegetable mixtures.
Chicken curry with rice - for two servings we need:
- 1–2 chicken breasts - depending on size,
- ½ cup long-grain rice,
- 1 cup chicken broth,
- 1–1.5 tablespoons Indian curry,
- ½ tablespoon ground chili,
- 3 tablespoons chopped onion,
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic,
- ½ tablespoon chopped red pepper.
Procedure: Pour the chicken stock into a wok, add the chicken and all other ingredients except the rice. Heat over low heat, stirring frequently. Once the chicken is done, remove it from the pan to separate the liquid. Prepare the rice according to the instructions on the package, but replace part of the recommended amount of water with the stock from the pan. TIP: You can add plain yogurt or cream to soften the taste.
Storage: Keep dry and tightly closed.
