Japan Sencha is a top Japanese traditional tea grown on open plantations. It is characterized by flat leaves of dark emerald color up to 2 cm long. Sencha occupies up to 80% of the offer in Japanese markets. It is suitable for both ordinary and exceptional occasions. The infusion is light green in color with an enticing aroma reminiscent of a grassy meadow on a spring morning. The taste reveals Japanese nature with a hint of bitterness and a gentle astringency that intensifies during steeping. The aftertaste is tuned to sweet tones.
Green tea has been known to mankind for more than five thousand years and is perceived as a basic tea. The largest producers are China and Japan. It is part of Eastern medicine, where it is attributed magical effects. It is associated with many rituals and cultural traditions, especially in Southeast Asian countries. In general, green tea has a fresh aroma and a milder taste than black tea. Dried leaves should be green, firm and shiny. This is tea that has undergone minimal oxidation.
Chinese tea tree acts as an antioxidant and supports physical and mental activity. Drinking tea is suitable for maintaining healthy teeth, supports the condition of bones and skin. It is recommended for weight control, is able to normalize blood glucose levels and fat metabolism. It supports normal heart health.
Recommended preparation:
Pour three teaspoons (9–10 g) into 500 ml of water at a temperature of 70 °C and steep for 1–2 minutes, then strain. This tea can be brewed up to three times. With each subsequent brew, it is advisable to extend the steeping time by one minute. We recommend experimenting with the temperature and steeping time. Japan Sencha has an excellent first brew even when steeped with water at a lower temperature, e.g. 50 °C.
