Clearspring Kukicha Organic Loose Leaf Tea is grown in the hills around Kyoto and Kyushu, areas known for their ideal climate and soil conditions that produce some of the finest tea in Japan. Uniquely, it is made from carefully selected twigs and stems of Japanese tea bushes, rather than green tea leaves, giving it a warm brown colour, a delicate flavour and a rich roasted aroma. The kukicha twigs are steamed, rolled and dried before being slowly aged to develop the smooth, nutty and soothing flavour for which Kukicha is popular. The roasting process helps reduce the caffeine, making it much lower than in coffee, black and green tea.
