A roasted form of the traditional South American herbal tea mate from the Paraguayan holly. Unlike green mate, roasted mate has a higher content of active ingredients.
Maté has a beneficial effect on renal elimination - the removal of harmful substances from the body through the kidneys. Another property of mate is regulation of lipid metabolism (fats) and the ability to influence body weight. Mate is often drunk during rituals because it is able to strengthen mental well-being and relieve physical fatigue. Drinking mate can achieve overall refreshment of the body.
Maté contains caffeine, which helps increase alertness, improve concentration and contributes to increased endurance performance.
The infusion has a greenish-brown color and a slightly smoky aroma. The taste is strong, slightly astringent and long-lasting, thicker than green mate.
Preparation: Mate is traditionally prepared in a calabaza (a container made from a special gourd) and drunk through a bombilla (a metal tube with a strainer at the bottom). However, it can be prepared in anything, although with less effect. We use 10 g of tea in 0.5 l of water (water temperature 95 °C) and let it steep for approximately 10 minutes. Unlike Maté Rancho, Pampero is not suitable for preparing a cold drink.
