Milk thistle is an annual or biennial herb growing up to 1.5 m tall. It belongs to the Asteraceae family. It is native to the dry regions of the Mediterranean and Southeast Asia. It blooms in late June and its purple-red flowers resemble a thistle. For phytotherapeutic purposes, the fruits that develop from the flowers at the end of summer are collected.
Milk thistle is able to maintain liver health, control cholesterol and support liver cleansing. The liver, as is known, is the so-called factory and blood filter. Usage: We supply the seeds whole, so they retain their freshness for a longer time, but they must be crushed before preparing the tea to ensure effective extraction. To prepare the tea, use one tablespoon of crushed fruits, pour boiling water and let it steep for 15 minutes. Take 2–3 times a day. It is also possible to chew and swallow 1 teaspoon 2 times a day.
