Natural rice has not been stripped of its valuable upper husk and germ and is an irreplaceable part of healthy cuisine and macrobiotics. True basmati rice comes exclusively from India or Pakistan and the name basmati is a protected designation. Sometimes dishonest traders also refer to ordinary long-grain rice as basmati.
Basic preparation: Rinse two cups of rice in cold water and add less than two cups of cold water and salt and cook slowly until tender (approx. 35>).
