Atlantic Sea Salt with Organic Algae

Due to the naturally bound iodine in seaweed, natural sea salt with iodine-containing algae can significantly contribute to the daily iodine intake. With an average salt intake of 6 g per day, it can be 60% of the RDI.

It is not refined or bleached. Sea salt is not an agricultural product and is therefore not regulated by the EC Regulation on organic farming. Sea salt is therefore not available in organic quality.

The sea salt comes from an area in the eastern Algarve (Portugal). It is still traditional and handmade: sea water is introduced into the scrub that runs near the coast and evaporates under the influence of the sun. The stones are cleaned of impurities with the help of nets. The iodine-containing algae are specially grown in organic quality and come from artisanal production in Spain.
