Old French mustard 195 g BIO LABORA

Old French mustard is produced by hand according to the original Trappist recipe of the monks of the Nový Dvůr monastery. Traditionally, every monastery of the order must support itself through the work of its monks. The Nový Dvůr monastery produces mustard, raises sheep and works in the forest. Old French mustard is a very high-quality product, a relative of the French mustard called "Moutarde à l'ancienne", which can be translated as "Old-fashioned mustard". This mustard is produced from selected mustard seeds by hand and in small quantities. The seeds are first soaked in a mixture of vinegar and water from the forests surrounding the monastery. Then they are crushed on a millstone and scented with honey and Moravian white wine. The mildly spiced mustard is hand-filled into jars, where it matures for several weeks to acquire its unmistakable aroma, which distinguishes it so significantly from competing products.

USE: This mustard is excellent for table use. It perfectly complements the taste of meat, sausages or cheese. It can also be used to prepare spreads, sauces and dressings and marinate meat or vegetables. Plain bread with butter and old French mustard is a real delicacy!
