The oyster mushroom (lat. Pleurotus ostreatus) is a mushroom that has earned the nickname "elixir of youth". It is a wood-degrading fungus, meaning that oyster mushrooms and other types of mushrooms decompose both living and dead wood.

The oyster mushroom is a very tasty mushroom. It is easy to combine the pleasant with the useful and add the mushroom to a variety of dishes. In the kitchen, the mushroom is used both ground and in the form of dried slices in ready-made dishes, soups and sauces. In quick cooking, we can add it to vegetable and meat dishes or under stewed and roasted meat. By using the mushroom, we enrich our diet in a natural way. Mushrooms such as Judas' ear, oyster mushroom and shiitake are very suitable dietary supplements.

According to the provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 1924/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council, on nutrition and health claims, we are not allowed to inform you about the positive effects of oyster mushroom on the human body. Please find information about the effects in freely available sources on the Internet, in literature, or in herbaria.

Traditional use: Dried oyster mushroom is added to meals according to taste in an amount of 1.5–8 g per day.
