Pine nuts are the fruit of the Scots pine (Pinus pinea) which grows up to 30 m tall. The tree is native to the Mediterranean and loves dry, loose soils. The cones are cylindrical in shape and contain seeds, which are called pine nuts. Their taste is very delicate and delicious, they are a source of vitamin K, vitamin E, magnesium and zinc.
