Piri Piri is a seasoning used in Mozambique, Angola and various parts of Africa. It is a mildly hot spice that perfectly enhances the taste of various types of meat and sauces. Piri Piri has a pungent and fresh aroma. The taste of the mixture itself is reminiscent of chili peppers - pleasantly spicy, overall balanced. It does not contain salt.
Ingredients: Cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic, onion, cardamom, ginger, oregano.
Usage:
Piri Piri is especially suitable for meat dishes. It is recommended especially for grilled and roasted meats or minute dishes, as well as for minced meat and for preparing roasted chicken.
Piri Piri meat
For four servings we need:
- 1 kg of meat (chicken, pork, beef),
- 50 ml of red wine,
- 100 ml of olive oil,
- 3 tablespoons of Piri Piri,
- salt to taste.
Procedure: Mix olive oil, red wine, Piri Piri spices and salt and let stand for a few minutes. Place the sliced meat in the prepared sauce at least two hours before grilling or baking in the oven. While grilling, regularly brush with the remaining sauce. Serve Piri Piri meat with a fresh salad or crispy potatoes and, for example, garlic dip.
Storage: Keep dry and close carefully.
