Pure Peru is a tincture made according to the recipe of Peruvian healers from four herbs: manayupa, canchalagua, chanca piedra and cola de caballo. These herbs are part of traditional Peruvian medicine and when mixed in the right proportion, a highly effective cleansing agent is created.
The tincture is composed of the following herbs:
Manayupa comes from the mountainous regions of Peru, where it is considered a traditional plant and is attributed with almost magical effects. In Quechua, its name is "runa mana yupana", which can be translated as "its properties are countless". During the Inca period, the use of manayupa was a privilege of the upper social classes and had a partly ceremonial, even cultic character. Manayupa is recommended for supporting and cleansing the liver.
Canchalagua is native to South America, its sites are rather in drier mountainous regions at an altitude of 2,000 to 3,000 meters above sea level. It is widely found in the valleys in the middle of the Andes in what is now Peru. Canchalagua is traditionally pronounced as "kanchalagua".
Chanca piedra is an annual herb growing freely in tropical regions around the world, including China, India, the Bahamas and America. It is very widespread in the Amazon rainforests. It is most often used and sought after therapeutically for its effect on the urinary tract. The Spanish name can be translated as "stone" or "stone crusher", which suggests why chanca piedra is used - it contributes to maintaining normal urinary tract and kidney function. Chanca piedra is an antioxidant, supports the body's natural defenses and resistance, and maintains good health. It affects blood fat metabolism and blood pressure, is recommended for (pre)menstrual syndrome and the suppression of accompanying symptoms of menopause. Chanca piedra has a relaxing effect on mental and physical well-being. It is recommended for normalizing stomach pH and joint health.
Cola de Caballo is one of the largest horsetails in the world, which is also reflected in its other name
- giant horsetail. It is a South American variety of horsetail. It is one of the oldest plants on earth. It was used hundreds of years ago and is still popular throughout Peru and other South American countries.
