Currants are small dark, seedless raisins dried in the sun. These top quality currants are not surface-treated with vegetable oil to prevent sticking! Like all organic quality raisins, organic currants are also unsulphured. Traditionally grown in Greece, they are very sweet and slightly sour. They are traditionally used in baked goods - sweet rolls, Christmas stollen and the like. Thanks to their small size, they swell up completely in soft doughs and are very pleasant to the bite. However, they are also wonderful for snacking, in muesli and table mixes.
