Product detailed description
Red rooibos (lat. Aspalathus linearis) or Cape tea is an upright shrub growing up to 2 m tall. The first harvest begins with six-month-old plants, the leaves are collected in bags and then crushed. Honey rooibos undergoes a fermentation process, gaining its honey color, aroma and taste.
The drink has been very popular in South Africa for many generations, but in recent years it has also been consumed in many other countries around the world.
A cup of Rooibos tea (without sugar) also contains no calories. In addition, Rooibos teas do not contain caffeine, making them an alternative caffeine-free drink, suitable for drinking throughout the day, even for children, infants and pregnant women.
The provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 1924/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council on nutrition and health claims do not allow us to inform you about the effects of this plant on your body. Please find information about the effects in freely available sources or in a herbarium.
Traditional use:
Pour two teaspoons of honey rooibos over 250 ml of hot water and let it steep for about 5 minutes. You can also choose a stronger option: 8–10 g = 4–5 teaspoons per 500 ml of water.
