The leaves of the sedge are processed in a food standard, but according to EU Regulation 2015/2283, the sedge may not be used as a food or food supplement. We supply the sedge only as a raw material for external use and for further processing (e.g. in cosmetics).
The AF designation means Alcohol Free – a product with 0% alcohol content. A unique technology and multiple extraction were used in the production.
The sedge is a perennial herb growing up to 50 cm tall. It is an evergreen, delicate plant originating from China and Japan. The sedge is characterized by elongated heart-shaped leaves and very small inflorescences of white and yellow color. It blooms in April and May, growing in large clusters. The plant prefers moist soil rich in humus and a shady location.
