Shilajit is a substance similar to asphalt. It is formed by a specific transformation of plant and animal remains through contact with minerals in the extreme conditions of the Asian mountains. It was probably discovered by hunters who were watching wounded animals that repeatedly sought out and licked this rock. Subsequently, faster healing of these animals was observed. Given the observed facts, the rock has become the subject of intense human interest. The effects of shilajit are already mentioned in Sanskrit texts that are more than 3,000 years old.
