White birch, lat. Betula pendula, is a tree typical of its white bark pigment. It belongs to the birch family (Betulaceae) and is the most valuable species of birch in Europe. It is planted for the purpose of reclamation of deforested areas, it is not demanding on soil. It is a relatively fast-growing tree. The advantage of its wood is that it burns even when wet.
