Product detailed description
Stevia rebaudiana is a perennial herb growing up to 60 cm tall. It belongs to the Asteraceae family. It comes from Paraguay, where it was used by the local Indians as a sweetener for traditional tea Yerba mate. The leaves are collected, which make it a sought-after herb. They are small, responsive and lanceolate. The inflorescence is white, forming terminal umbels that bloom throughout the summer.
Stevia has a characteristically sweet taste and is used as a sweetener for herbal and fruit teas. It is 15 times sweeter than beet sugar and can be used to fully replace sucrose. Stevia is considered a non-caloric sweetener.
