The common sunflower, also called annual or summer, is a tall herb supposedly native to North America. It is grown for its oil seeds, which have an enormous content of vitamin E, which contributes to protecting cells from oxidative stress.
Sunflower seeds have a high fiber content, are a source of protein and are suitable as a snack between main meals, even dry-roasted in a pan.
