The so-called tahini is a pure, unsalted paste made from ground sesame seeds. It is popular in macrobiotic cuisine, used in the vegan hummus spread and goes well with most cooked legume-based spreads. It softens sauces, dips and salad dressings, is great on pastries alone or in combination with honey, jam, etc. White tahini made from hulled sesame has a milder taste without traces of bitterness compared to tahini made from unhulled sesame. This tahini is made from sesame seeds that are gently air-roasted using renewable energy and immediately ground finely. The resulting paste naturally contains high-quality unsaturated oils, vitamins and minerals - calcium, iron, magnesium and vitamins B1 and B6. Since no additives such as hydrogenated fats or emulsifiers are used, oil separation may occur. This phenomenon is not a defect in quality and the paste can be simply stirred before use.
