Test kit for precise measurement of nitrates in fresh and marine water.
This test allows a safe determination of the pollution of aquarium water. The measured nitrate value indicates how much water needs to be changed. Organic substances containing nitrogen, such as fish feces, food residues or rotting plants, are in various stages of decomposition by microorganisms.
Ammonia is converted into nitrites and then into nitrates. Nitrates are consumed by plants as nutrients, but at concentrations above 50 mg / l they become harmful to fish and promote algae growth.
