Product detailed description
This herb, growing 1–2 meters tall, can most often be found on dry, rocky slopes in Peru. It is known for its menthol flavor and pungent aroma. Thanks to its strong aroma, it was used as a pest repellent when storing vegetables. The plant was first described in the 18th century by Spanish chroniclers.
Since the plant is not very well known in Europe and its use is not widespread, no company has submitted a proposal for the recognition of any of the health claims for which the plant is traditionally used. According to Regulation (EC) No. 1924/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council, we are therefore not allowed to inform about these health benefits. More information can be found in the herbarium.
Traditional use: Pour one heaping tablespoon of dried plant into 750 ml of cold water and bring to the boil. Cook for about 4–5 minutes on low heat and then strain. Drink a glass of the decoction 3 times a day. The decoction has a bright sparkle and a strong menthol taste.
Warning: Do not exceed the recommended daily dosage. Not recommended for pregnant and lactating women, children under 3 years of age. Does not replace a varied diet.
